As a kid it can be rough because your voice is maturing and you aren’t sure how to use your voice. However, reading this article is a step in the right direction to learning how to sing!

  1. You first need to figure out what type of music suits you best. Everyone is different, and it’s important that you know what genre fits your voice correctly. Try singing along to songs you like and seeing which ones are easiest and hardest to sing.
  2. After you have determined both of these you need to find a vocal coach or take singing lessons. This will help you with rough spots and help you improve.
  3. Do musicals and practice whenever you can. Practice is the key.
  4. Try looking up vocal exercises before you sing. They can help you sing much better before a show and get your voice in the right mood to sing!

Whether you’re looking to be “discovered,” hoping to win cool prizes, or just seeking some recognition of your awesome vocal talents, karaoke contests are a great way to test yourself. While these competitions offer a chance to see some great performers (and some not-so-great ones, too), and have an outrageously good time, they’re even more fun if you win. How do you do it? Read on, and go ahead and imagine a little ball jumping over the words as you do.

  1. Practice singing. No matter what else you do, it’s important to be able to carry a tune and sing on pitch. While you need not be the “best” singer at the competition, and you certainly don’t need to be professionally trained, those things won’t hurt you. Karaoke contests are usually judged on some combination of vocal ability, audience response, and stage presence, but if you can nail the singing part, the judges may give you some leeway on other aspects of your performance.   2. Learn your songs by heart. Most karaoke contests allow you to pick your own songs, and if you’re going to win, you should have practiced these time and time again. Yes, the words are right there on the screen, but if you know the words and have perfect timing, you don’t even have to look at the screen. There have also been instances where the MC deliberately mutes the song, or the music is genuinely mis-recorded, and you won’t hear the song for some time. You have to keep on singing until the music returns. Not only will your overall performance be more masterful, you may impress the judges and audience with your knowledge of the songs. How to Do Karaoke

An evening out with friends going to a Karaoke Club is fun and interesting. If you have never done this type of singing, it would be advisable to watch a few times, to get the idea, or to get a home system and practice. Either way, make sure you do not hesitate to get up on stage, and try it. Get together with a few friends, and sing as a group. Either way, enjoy it.

  1. Pick a song. Sometimes there are binders that have a list of the songs that are available. If you are doing karaoke at home, you can often look at the CD case for a listing. You can also ask the host or hostess if they have a particular song in mind that they would like you to sing.
  2. Fill out a slip, if required, and give it to the host.
  3. Wait your turn. Different hosts have different ways of rotating the singers, so don’t get worried if your song doesn’t come up when you expect it to. Read more
